Pride Month 2026: Explore these unique events in Mumbai this June

Every year, Pride Month is observed in June to celebrate and honour the contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community across the world. Coming from different walks of life, they face many challenges every single day not only at home but also in public and very often in corporate life too. 
With celebrations underway across the world to celebrate the community this June, there is a lot happening in Mumbai too. It is important to remember and acknowledge those who are living among us and are across the spectrum namely Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual too.

Pride prose and poetry
City-based cocktail bar Idoru is hosting ‘Pride Prose & Poetry’ in Khar this weekend. The event will see open-mic readings of literature exploring concepts such as identity, love, longing, belonging, self-discovery, and the many journeys of becoming. It will not only feature readings by Nandini Godara, Mandovi Menon, and Srijan D, but also leave the floor open to anyone who wishes to express.

Acting workshop for the LGBTQIA+ community
As part of its Pride Month 2026 celebrations, Keshav Suri Foundation has collaborated with acclaimed filmmaker Faraz Arif Ansari to host the fifth edition of TRANSaction, a free acting workshop exclusively for members of the transgender and queer community.  The three-day workshop will be held from June 12 to 14 at The LaLiT Mumbai, commencing at 9 am each day.
The platform aims to provide aspiring performers from the LGBTQIA+ community with access to industry insights, professional mentorship, and opportunities for creative growth. Participants will get the opportunity to engage in intensive and interactive sessions led by filmmaker Faraz Arif Ansari and learn from an inspiring line-up of guest mentors, including Pooja Bhatt, Shweta Tripathi, Taha Shah Badussha, Tess Joseph, Shikha Talsania, and several other leading voices from the entertainment industry.
Registrations for TRANSaction are open to aspiring transgender and queer performers who wish to explore acting, storytelling, and creative expression in a safe, supportive, and empowering environment.
